Youth Projects
Outside of our core remit we act to support youth community projects that we become aware of, where we feel we can add value and make a difference. We are open to engaging in areas that do not sit within our focus and hope to help wherever we see the potential to change young peoples’ lives for the better.
The first of these is a project in the Algarve in Portugal, a country with which we have close personal links, and provides support to disabled children with learning difficulties to experience horse riding. We became aware of a scheme run by a local riding stable to bring children to ride and experience animals and nature outside of their difficult daily lives.
The project lacked funding for vital equipment for these young people, who require special equipment to enable them to ride more comfortably. We have both provided these and begun to work with the local community to raise awareness and further funding for this very special project.
